About US

The Martin Luther King, Jr. All-Children's Choir was established in 1985 and is open to singers aged 6-18. It provides an opportunity for young people in the Raleigh/Wake County area to participate in the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration. Dr. King’s birthday became a legal holiday on January 15, 1986.

MLK Holiday

The MLK holiday is an important day that celebrates the life and legacy of a civil rights icon, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It serves as a reminder of his tireless efforts to fight for racial equality and justice for all. This holiday honors his accomplishments and inspires us to continue working toward achieving his dream of a world free from discrimination and prejudice. It is a time to reflect on the progress that has been made, but also acknowledge that there is still much work to be done in the pursuit of equality and justice.
