Our Story
The Fig Tree Hotel began as a Victorian guesthouse, lovingly restored into a contemporary modern, peaceful, boutique retreat while keeping its welcoming spirit.
The Hotel was closed in 2019 and then brought back to life by Scottish sisters Wendy & Karen.
Today, the hotel is a modern, peaceful boutique retreat for people who love calm, comfort and genuine hospitality. With clean, spacious rooms and a relaxed atmosphere just minutes from Shanklin beach and the Old Village.

We’re Hiring: Front of House – Breakfast & Guest Services
The Fig Tree Hotel is looking for a warm, organised, and reliable person to join our friendly hospitality team. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, takes pride in great service, and would like to be part of a boutique hotel known for genuine hospitality and meaningful guest experiences.
As part of our front of house team, you will help create a welcoming start to the day for our guests by serving breakfast and beverages, greeting guests with warmth, assisting with check-outs, responding to bookings and emails, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the hotel. You will also work alongside our housekeeping team when needed, helping us maintain the high standards our guests appreciate.

Position: Front of House – Breakfast & Guest Services
Hours: Part-time, 10-20 hours per week
Location: The Fig Tree Hotel
Duties
Breakfast service, guest welcome, check-outs, bookings, emails, and housekeeping support
About you
You will be friendly, dependable, and well organised, with excellent people skills and a genuine desire to make guests feel welcome. You should be comfortable using basic IT systems, including email and booking platforms. Previous hospitality or customer service experience would be helpful, but the right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
