HISTORY

In January of 2005 a church called Double Oak Community Church began meeting in the town of Mt. Laurel east of Birmingham on Highway 280. The heart of that church from its founding was to be an anchor point for ministry as the metro area spread farther out, particular toward the city of Chelsea. So on August 12, 2018, they started a second campus that met in Chelsea Park Elementary School. Land was purchased and a building was built right under the clocktower of the Chelsea Park neighborhood, and a new church began to grow. After a congregational vote in December 2024, the Chelsea Campus began the process of pursuing independence, officially becoming Chelsea Community Church in 2025. We are excited to be planting our roots just as Chelsea begins its own expansion. We are here to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the hope of his Kingdom in Chelsea.
