Hi I'm Madison,

I was prescribed medication for PCOS before I even had a diagnosis, and left feeling unsure about what it meant for my body and fertility future. Years later, after navigating my own diagnosis and rebuilding my health on my own, I realised how often women are left to figure this out alone and how much the right support changes everything. Now, I guide women with PCOS to understand what’s actually driving their symptoms and support their body to restore hormonal balance and prepare for pregnancy with confidence.

Frequently Asked Question

What is PCOS / PMOS and how do I know if I have it?

PCOS is a hormonal condition that can affect ovulation, cycles, metabolism, and hormone balance. It’s often identified through a combination of symptoms (like irregular periods, acne, hair changes, or difficulty ovulating), blood tests, and sometimes ultrasound, not just one test alone.

Does having PCOS / PMOS mean I’ll struggle to get pregnant?

Not necessarily. Having PCOS can make ovulation less predictable, but it does not automatically mean infertility. Many women with PCOS conceive naturally once ovulation and the underlying drivers of hormonal imbalance are supported.

Can I cure my PCOS / PMOS?

Having a PCOS diagnosis is life long, you’ll always have the risk factors associated with PCOS however, the condition can be managed very effectively. Many women experience significant improvements in symptoms, cycle regularity, and fertility when the root causes of PCOS are addressed.

How do you help with PCOS / PMOS?

I guide women with PCOS using a whole-body, naturopathic approach that looks beyond symptom suppression. This includes personalised nutrition, lifestyle support, targeted supplementation, appropriate testing with interpretation, and emotional support, all tailored to what your body actually needs.

How long does it take to see results with PCOS / PMOS support?

Everyone is different, but many women begin noticing changes in energy, mood, and cycle awareness within the first few months. Restoring hormonal balance and ovulation requires consistency, and most women need at least three months of targeted support to see clear cycle changes. The longer PCOS symptoms have been present, the more time the body often needs to respond.

Can PCOS / PMOS be managed without medication?

For many women, yes. While medication can be helpful for managing symptoms, it doesn’t always address the underlying drivers of PCOS or support long-term hormonal health. PCOS often responds well to personalised nutrition, lifestyle support, and targeted supplementation, and I can work with you either alongside medication or without it, depending on your individual needs and goals.

What’s the difference between PCOS and PMOS?

You may now hear the term PMOS (Polyfollicular Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) being used instead of PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). The updated terminology reflects that the condition involves far more than just the ovaries, with metabolic and endocrine health playing a significant role. The diagnostic criteria itself has not changed.

Why am I doing everything right but still struggling with PCOS / PMOS?

Most PCOS advice is generic and one-size-fits-all, which doesn’t account for individual drivers like insulin resistance, inflammation, stress hormones, nutrient deficiencies, or other health concerns. When these underlying factors aren’t addressed, progress can feel frustratingly slow despite your best efforts. Personalised care looks at you as a whole person, not just a PCOS diagnosis and often reveals what’s been missing.

I have a specialist or medical team — can I still work with a naturopath?

Absolutely. Naturopathic care works alongside your GP or specialist and complements medical treatment by supporting nutrition, lifestyle, hormonal balance, and overall wellbeing. Collaborative care often provides the best support.

I’m not ready to get pregnant — can PCOS / PMOS still be supported now?

Absolutely. Supporting hormones, cycle health, and metabolic balance now can reduce symptoms and improve overall wellbeing, while also creating a stronger foundation for future reproductive health if and when that becomes relevant. PCOS care isn’t only about pregnancy, it’s about feeling better in your body now and long term.

I’m not sure if I have PCOS / PMOS but I have hormonal issues, can you still help?

Yes. Many women experience hormonal symptoms without a formal PCOS diagnosis, or their symptoms may be influenced by other hormonal or reproductive conditions. Exploring your cycle, symptoms, and underlying imbalances can still provide clarity and direction, regardless of the label.
