• Raw sewage and floodwaters contain bacteria and other microorganisms which are extremely hazardous to human health. These can be transmitted by touching contaminated items or by tracking them into uncontaminated areas on shoes.

• Keep children and pets out of contaminated areas. Prevent your pets from interacting with your children incase they may have spent time in contaminated areas. This is just temporary.

2. Wash Your Children's Hands Frequently

• Treat all water-impacted surfaces and furnishings as toxic, until properly decontaminated.

• Children and pets are especially vulnerable; frequent handwashing is an important preventive measure.

3. Throw Out Your Carpet

• Absorbent materials such as carpeting and drywall may not be restorable after direct contact with sewage-contaminated or flood-contaminated water.

4. Do Not Disinfect Yourself
