We design our hospital environment to be as calm and comforting as possible, with separate spaces and gentle handling to reduce stress. Education and communication are central to how we practice, so you always understand your options and feel supported, whether your pet is beginning their senior years or nearing the end of life.

Dr Sarah and the WHOLE staff are so kind and sweet. When we come in we are greeted with a smile. They all listen to any issues and try to find out an answer for any questions I may have.
When my chihuahua Radar passed while we were out of town and he was at a sitters house I was able to call them and they said my friend could drop him off at the office and I could make his arrangements over the phone. It was a very emotional time but the girl on the phone was very sweet and calm when talking to me. Later I received a beautiful card in the mail that was signed by both Dr Sarah and Dr Best with heartwarming messages.
There is no single right answer, but quality of life is the most important guide. We use structured quality-of-life assessments alongside our medical experience to help you evaluate your pet's daily comfort, mobility, appetite, and enjoyment of life. This decision is deeply personal, and you will never be pressured, we are here to walk through it with you at your own pace.
Palliative care focuses on relieving pain and discomfort while your pet continues to live with a serious condition. Pet hospice care is a form of palliative care for pets who are nearing the end of life. Both approaches emphasize comfort, calm, and time together, rather than curing disease.
During senior visits, we perform a thorough exam, review any test results, and talk with you about changes you have noticed at home. We may adjust medications, recommend diet or lifestyle changes, and discuss ways to keep your pet comfortable. You will always have time to ask questions and share concerns.
In most cases, yes. We encourage you to be with your pet if that is what you want. We will explain each step, focus on your pet’s comfort, and give you as much time as you need to say goodbye.
Exotic pets have unique needs as they age. We tailor exams, housing recommendations, nutrition, and comfort care to your pet’s species. Our team will guide you through senior care and end-of-life decisions with the same gentle, thorough approach we provide for dogs and cats.
If you are facing difficult decisions about your aging companion, we are here to guide you with compassion, clarity, and respect.
