Meet Little Blue Nova, the reigning matriarch and the heart of our program.
Nova was born on July 8th, 2022, a day that already holds deep meaning for our family as both our anniversary and our youngest son’s birthday. From the moment she arrived, it felt clear she was meant to be with us.
Nova is full of love and personality. She is happiest curled up on the couch with her family during movie nights. She also loves car rides, long walks, and roaming freely around our farm. She brings both calm and joy wherever she goes.
What truly sets Nova apart is her lifestyle. She is one hundred percent naturally reared. She has never been vaccinated, never exposed to chemical dewormers or flea, tick, or heartworm products, and she is not microchipped either. Nova has been raised on a species appropriate raw diet from the start.
Her vitality, resilience, and longevity are the foundation of who she is, and that foundation is exactly why her offspring are thriving. Nova is the heart of our home and is the cornerstone of our breeding program.
Lifestyle Over Testings
Here at Little Rogue Dane, our gold standard is the lifestyle we provide. Raw Diet, no vaccines, no chemical products, inappropriate surgeries.
Though we like to have a baseline to our dog structure and genetics, those are just guidelines to how to breed better.
We use Paw print Genetics, Embark, and OFA. Rest assured you are getting the best of both worlds with our puppies.
No Vaccines -No Chemicals - No Kibble - No Early Spaying/Neutering - No Microchips - No Dewclaw Removal/Ear Cropping
Health Screenings/ Genetic Testings
For Great Danes, the breed average DI typically falls around 0.45 to 0.55, with many dogs testing higher than that. Numbers closer to zero indicate excellent hip stability and are considered well above average for the breed.
Nova’s PennHIP results are exceptional. Her Right DI is 0.20 and her Left DI is 0.22, placing her significantly tighter and more stable than the average Great Dane. These scores reflect outstanding hip structure, strong joint integrity, and a greatly reduced risk of hip dysplasia.
Results like these are rarely achieved without a combination of solid genetics, slow and intentional growth, proper nutrition, and a lifestyle that supports musculoskeletal development. Nova’s scores further reinforce the foundation she brings to our program and why her offspring benefit from both her genetics and the lifestyle she lives every day. She has passed her OFA Echo Heart, Thyroid which with lifestyle and her health are passed on to her off-springs.
✔️ OFA Echo Heart – Normal ✔️ OFA Thyroid – Normal ✔️ PennHIP – .20/.22 (Top 1% of Great Danes Worldwide)
Nova welcomed a litter of ten thriving puppies in July 2024. She was an exceptional mother, attentive, playful, and deeply loving throughout every stage of raising her babies. From the very beginning, she guided them with calm confidence and care.
Each puppy from this litter went on to live with families who continue to honor a natural rearing lifestyle. Their health, resilience, and adaptability reflect both Nova’s strong foundation and the intentional start they were given.
You can view photos and updates of this litter under Past Puppies.
We are excited to see what she produces in her next litter this spring of 2o26!
