Rifle Airport

The Challenge:

Demolish the runway and safety area and reconstruct the safety area and runway to update standards in under eight months.

The Work:

Extensive planning due to tight milestone requirements.

Established and supervised land survey, earthwork, utility, electrical coordination, paving, and striping.

Coordination with FAA engineers to navigate the extreme federal regulations to ensure the safety of aircraft, flight crew, and their passengers.

The Result:

First project of this nature for the company and Quinn. It was finished on time and under budget, even with an extremely tight timeframe. The success of this project led to a series of similar projects at four regional airports across Colorado.

Settlers Crossing Home sites

Chambers Reservoir

The Challenge:

Build a reservoir in harsh conditions to supply Arapahoe County with additional water storage.

The Work

Installed an extensive dewatering plan so excavation could proceed and the ideal grades could be achieved.

Supervised machine and staffing for the extreme conditions of earthwork due to constant water infiltration.

Work closely with engineering to make sure the clay liner was adequate so the reservoir had no extra water leakage.

The Result:

Construction was completed on time and budget. The reservoir was successfully filled just in time to support Arapahoe County during one of the worst droughts in recent memory.

Candelas Home Site

The Challenge:

Massive earthwork operation included relocating more than six million cubic yards of various materials, including rock, clay, alluvium, and topsoil, to flatten the site for future homes.

The Work

Developed an intricate plan for haul routes, material relocation, and consolidation.

Devised an onsite strategy to repurpose waste materials into future paving aggregates that resulted in cost savings for the client.

Worked extensively with soil engineers to ensure proper compaction due to the nature of the material and the extreme depths of the cuts and fills.

The Result:

Finished project on time with 23% profit margins for the client while still meeting every requirement needed to start construction.

Amazon

The Challenge:

Site preparation for Amazon’s first one million square foot distribution center east of the Denver area.

The Work

Oversight of 35-acre earthwork operation to prepare the site for the pad and surrounding parking infrastructure.

Recruited and supervised contractors, machinery, and site staff in order to meet milestones.

Developed Earthwork haul routes in coordination with the municipality.

Managed extreme shirk and swell conditions and developed plans to ensure proper materials were readily available in the correct quantities.

The Result:

Completed site work in less than 90 days allowing Amazon to start construction on the site ahead of schedule.
