Guide Dog Training
In 2023, I completed intensive training with Guide Dogs for the Blind in Seattle and Leavenworth. This experience was about more than just commands; it was about understanding the 'why' behind dog behavior. Working with future service dogs like Sal taught me the patience and precision required to 'train the human' to better communicate with their animals.
Yosemite National Park
I spent five months living and working as a Volunteer Park Ranger in Yosemite. Beyond leading tours, I was responsible for the daily care of the park’s stagecoach horses. Handling everything from feeding to arena maintenance. Working with horses reinforced my belief that behavior is a language; earning the trust of a 1,200-pound animal requires a deep level of respect and consistency.
