Background
Miss Dorothy hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but has called the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco her home for over 80 years. Her journey from the southern fields to the bustling streets of San Francisco is a testament to her adaptability and enduring care for others.
Career & Service
With a career spanning 37 years as a psychiatric emergency room nurse at San Francisco General Hospital, Miss Dorothy has comforted countless souls in their most vulnerable moments. Beyond her professional role, she has served as a volunteer with the American Red Cross, a member of the community police program for the San Francisco Police Department, and a steadfast volunteer at the San Marin Food Bank. Her commitment extends into her spiritual life as well, where she has been a pillar of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, faithfully teaching and leading for over 66 years.
