Steve McMillon
CEO/Founder
He currently holds his life, health, and property and casualty insurance licenses in nearly 20 states across the US. Over the course of more than 20 years, he has seen the insurance industry evolve and expand to become more client centric, While these options used to be used specifically for protection in the event of the worst, they can now provide the policyholder with more flexibility.
A former athlete himself, Steve is passionate about helping athletes retire comfortably and fight what he believes is the biggest epidemic sweeping the sports community. He says, "Far too many athletes retire without a plan. And even more start their careers without a plan for how they'll use that money. That's the main reason so many athletes are broke just years after they retire, despite the fact that they were paid handsomely during their careers in sports. We help our athlete clients navigate the world of insurance solutions and more to plan for their retirement and create income streams that can preserve their funds We also work to educate them about their money and how to properly use it, ideally showing them its limited nature and how important it is to preserve their resources.
Steve is also passionate about providing complete service. He founded our firm knowing he wanted to assess each piece of a person's financial plan. "We're not here to offer cookie-cutter solutions," Steve says. "We're here to listen, and when a client discusses the troubles they face or the goals they want to accomplish, it's our job to find what we believe to be the best answer. After all, this is their livelihood, and it's our duty to conduct ourselves with honesty, integrity, and value-oriented service
He still considers football such a big part of his life, influencing his values both as a person and as an advisor, "There's so much more crossover than I think anyone would believe," Steve says "When you walk out onto that field, you're not fighting for yourself. You're battling for the ten guys who are out there with you. It's the perfect game to show you what people can do when they put their heads together and chase a goal. It works the same way in our office. Whether I'm working with our team or I'm working with a client, we're one unit pursuing a common goal and placing the greater good above all.
Steve is married to his beautiful wife of nearly 40 years, and together, the two have three children and eight grandchildren. He spends most of his free time with his family, oftentimes traveling, training, playing music and more. "Family is everything to me," he says. "And I know my clients feel the same way, which is why I treat them like family. They're doing their best for the people they love, and they want to succeed so they can give their loved ones the life they deserve. Each day, I want to leave the office knowing I did everything I could to make that possible.
He is also extremely active in his community, mentoring at-risk, under-represented boys in elementary school. Additionally, he plays percussions at his church, showing him the power of both his music and his spirituality, Steve says, "My faith is so important to me because I know how God has impacted my life and my business. When I speak to those in my church, or even the kids in my community, I tell them about my experiences and how my faith gave me the motivation to keep pursuing my dreams, It pushed me to make my dreams come true in the NFL, and it still drives me to do right by my clients as an advisor.
