PORT CLINTON, Ohio, January 26, 2026 — Two new Capybaras have arrived at African Safari Wildlife Park.
The pups were born on December 29 to mother Torta and father Kif. Their sexes are currently unknown. The Park's animal care staff report the Capybara family is thriving as a family group while the Park is closed for the season.
The pups share their parents' affinity for humans and will not hesitate to feed from or crawl on two-legged visitors. For a limited time, guests can step behind the scenes and meet the Park's growing Capybara family—including the two newborns. Advance bookings are required and can be arranged on the Park's website,www.africansafariwildlifepark.com.
Capybaras are the world’s largest rodents, native to wetlands, rivers, and grasslands across much of South America. They are semi-aquatic animals with partially webbed feet and spend much of their time near water, where they swim, graze on grasses and live in social groups.
The Ohio Safari Park, African Safari Wildlife Park, is located at 267 S. Lightner Rd. in Port Clinton, Ohio.
