This Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Use that govern your use of the Sites.

This Policy does not apply to any products, goods, services, websites, or content that are offered by third parties (“Third Party Services”), which are governed by their respective privacy policies.

3. What Information We Collect

As a general rule, we limit the Personal Information we collect to that which is adequate, relevant, and reasonably necessary for us to provide our Services to you.

Information That You Provide to Us

Users

  • Job title and your current or past employment or educational information;

Please note that we do not request certain information, such as citizenship status, or accident-related documents and photos.

Firms

  • Contact information, such as your first and last name, job title, email address, business address, shipping address, telephone number, mobile number, and fax number;

  • Law practice information, such as firm name, state bar number, law school attended and year of graduation, date of birth, certifications, California Lawyers Association sections enrolled, experience, license status, and errors and omissions insurance; and

  • Financial information, such as your business credit card or debit card number, taxpayer identification number, bank account information, and your payment and service history.

Employment Applicants

  • Contact information, such as your first and last name, email address, home or business address, shipping address, telephone number, and mobile number;

  • Your current or past employment or educational information;

  • Relevant licenses and certifications; and/or

  • Other information that could reasonably be used to identify you personally.

Sensitive Personal Information

We may collect Sensitive Personal Information as defined by applicable laws, such as Social Security numbers, precise geolocation data, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, union membership, or health data. We do not use this information for profiling or behavioral advertising.

Information That Is Automatically Collected

Like many businesses, we and our service providers automatically collect and/or store certain information when you visit or interact with the Sites or Services (“Usage Information”). This Usage Information may be stored and/or accessed from your personal computer, laptop, tablet, mobile phone, or other device (a “Device”) whenever you visit or interact with our Sites. We may derive information or draw inferences about you based on information we collect. For example, based on your contact information or language spoken, we may infer your interest in certain attorneys or law firms.

4. Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

We may use various methods and technologies to store or collect Usage Information (“Tracking Technologies”). Tracking Technologies may set, change, alter, or modify settings or configurations on your Device. Tracking Technologies used on the Sites include, but are not limited to, the following (as well as future-developed tracking technology or methods not listed here):

  • Cookies: A cookie is a file placed on a Device to uniquely identify your browser or to store information on your Device. Our Sites may use HTTP cookies, HTML5 cookies, and other types of cookie technology to store information in local storage

Data Sales & Sharing: Under applicable privacy laws, the term “sale” may include disclosure for targeted advertising. ClaimEaze does not sell personal data for monetary compensation, but we may share limited data with marketing partners for personalized advertising unless you opt out.

To the extent permitted by law and any applicable state Code of Professional Conduct, certain nonpublic information about you may be disclosed in the following situations:

• To comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including from law enforcement or other government agencies;

• As part of actual or threatened legal proceedings or alternative dispute resolution proceedings initiated by or against us, provided we disclose only the information necessary and take reasonable precautions so the information disclosed does not become a matter of public record;

You may see certain ads on our Sites because we participate in advertising networks administered by third parties. These networks track your online activities over time and across third-party websites and online services by collecting information through automated means, including through the Tracking Technologies described above. They use this information to show advertisements tailored to your interests.

The information they collect includes information about your visits to our Sites, such as pages you have viewed. This collection and ad targeting takes place on our Sites and on third-party websites that participate in the ad network. This process also helps us track the effectiveness of our communications and marketing efforts.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our Sites are not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not request or knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18. 9. Visitors to the Sites Outside of the United States

Our Sites are not intended for visitors outside of the United States, and we do not direct our activities at users outside of the United States. If you are visiting the Sites from outside the U.S., your connection will be through and to servers located in the U.S. All information you receive from the Sites will be created on servers located in the U.S., and all information you provide will be maintained on web servers and systems located within the U.S.

U.S. data protection laws may differ from those in your location, and your information may be subject to access requests from governments, courts, or law enforcement in the United States under U.S. law. By using the Sites or providing information, you consent to the transfer to, and processing, use, sharing, and storage of your information in the United States and other countries, as described in this Policy.

For your convenience, the Sites and this Policy may contain links to other websites not controlled by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, advertising, products, services, or content of such other websites. The inclusion of third-party links on our Sites does not imply that we endorse or are affiliated with those websites.

We incorporate commercially reasonable safeguards to help protect and secure your Personal Information. However, no data transmission over the internet, mobile networks, wireless transmission, or electronic storage of information can be guaranteed 100% secure. As a result, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to or from the Sites, and you provide information at your own risk.

We will retain your Personal Information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

You can opt out of receiving marketing emails or text messages from us at any time by unsubscribing at the bottom of our emails, replying “STOP” to our text messages, or contacting us using the information in the Contact Us section below.

Please note that certain Personal Information, such as your name or other identifying information, may remain in our systems even after an unsubscribe or deletion request in order to service your account, maintain the integrity and historical record of our systems, or comply with applicable laws and regulations.

If you would prefer that we not share your name and mailing address with third parties (other than our affiliates, service providers, and Firms), you may opt out by emailing [email protected]. Your choice will not affect our ability to share information in other ways described in this Policy.

Controlling Your Cookies

Most web browsers include a “Help” section on the toolbar. Please refer to that section for information on how to receive a notification when you receive a new cookie and how to disable cookies. If you disable cookies, you may be unable to access certain parts of the Sites or use all functionality.

Do Not Track

“Do Not Track” (“DNT”) is a browser setting that requests that websites disable tracking of an individual user. There is no universally agreed upon standard for responding to DNT signals. Accordingly, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use the Sites, and Personal Information may be transferred to Google. You may review how Google uses Personal Information and opt out using tools provided by Google. Separately, you may change your Facebook ad preferences through Meta.

14. Your California Privacy Rights

This section applies solely to residents of California and is provided pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

Your Rights

California residents have the right to:

  • Know whether Personal Information is sold or shared and to whom;

  • Access your Personal Information;

  • Request deletion of Personal Information, with certain exceptions;

  • Request correction of inaccurate Personal Information;

  • Know if Sensitive Personal Information (“SPI”) is collected and the purposes for which it is used;

  • Limit the use of SPI in certain circumstances; and

  • Not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.

Exercising Your California Privacy Rights

You or your authorized agent may submit a request to access, correct, delete, or opt out by contacting us using the information in the Contact Us section below.

To protect your privacy, we may require verification of your identity before processing your request. We will acknowledge your request within ten (10) days and respond within forty-five (45) days, unless additional time is permitted by law.
