We know choosing a provider is a big decision. Here are the questions we hear most often.
What makes BioDynamic Health different from a traditional primary care practice?
Traditional primary care is excellent for disease screening and acute care — and we believe in it. But it often doesn't have the time or tools to help people who want to optimize their health, reverse chronic issues, or understand why they feel the way they do. At BioDynamic Health, we use comprehensive functional lab testing, detailed health history analysis, and systems-based thinking to identify the actual root causes of your symptoms — not just treat them.
What conditions do you work with?
We work primarily with adults experiencing metabolic dysfunction, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and cardiometabolic risk, gut health disorders, chronic inflammatory conditions, fatigue, brain fog, burnout, autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, and performance optimization for athletes. What is a Foundational Assessment?
It's your entry point into our practice. The Foundational Assessment is a comprehensive 75-90 minute session where we review your full health history, analyze your labs, and begin building a personalized care plan. It's available in two options: without labs ($299) or with labs ($699). Most patients find the with-labs option gives them more to work with immediately.
Do you take insurance?
Our office does not bill insurance. You may pay by check, credit card, or HSA debit card. Upon request, we can provide you with a copy of the superbill which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement for out-of-network care. The superbill is a detailed medical receipt that contains procedure codes, diagnosis codes, and the fees charged for your office visit. We cannot guarantee what reimbursement, if any, you may receive. We do not submit claims or call insurance companies directly. This is the responsibility of the patient.
We do not participate with Medicare, nor do we bill Medicare for any services rendered. A patient can NOT submit superbills to Medicare for possible reimbursement.
Do you offer payment plans?
No, at this time we do not offer any payment plans.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
Unfortunately, when doctors participate with insurance carriers, they enter into a contract that allows the insurance companies to dictate what services will be supplied, limiting the quality of care that we believe you deserve. As the costs of keeping a clinic running has continued to rise, reimbursement has fallen, forcing most doctors to see more and more patients a day, keeping office visits very brief. We believe this approach of seeing patients for shortened visit times does not allow us to create the personalized plan of care that is necessary in a functional or integrative approach.
Most laboratory services provided by LabCorp or Quest can be billed directly to your insurance plans unless you don’t have out- of-network coverage. For those that do not have good lab coverage we have partnered with LabCorp and negotiated a lower, fixed lab cost for our routine blood work labs. Most have found that this cost is less than their copay for the same tests. It also gives us the freedom to order a more comprehensive workup without concern for a denial of coverage, as the labs are paid for upfront.
Some specialty labs may not be covered by your insurance plans. Please check with your insurance company regarding deductibles and reimbursement for out-of-network labs. It is not the responsibility of Origins Functional Medicine to understand your individual insurance coverage.
How do your membership programs work?
After your Foundational Assessment, you can continue care through one of our monthly membership programs — starting at $69/month for Direct Primary Care. Where are you located? Do you offer virtual visits?
We are located in St. Petersburg, Florida. We offer both in-person and virtual visits.

What labs do you run?
We build a customized lab panel for each patient based on their intake forms and health history. Some labs are offered and included in memberships, but some might be billed separately, whether through insurance or cash pay. For patients with high deductibles or limited coverage, cash pricing is available. Call our office for a quote: 401.481.9361. We will discuss your specific needs at your Discovery Call and Foundational Assessment appointment to determine your personalized care needs.
I've tried everything. Can you actually help?
That's one of the most common things we hear and it's exactly the kind of patient we are energized by. Complex, overlapping, or unexplained cases are his specialty. The first step is always understanding the full picture. That's what the Foundational Assessment is for.

Botanicals, supplements, and herbs are not evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. I do have an affiliation and financial relationship with Designs for Health, Metagenics, and Fullscripts. This allows BDH to provide discounts to our clients with a small commission to keep our prices low so we can help as many people as possible. However, Biodynamic health only uses these products because we believe they use extremely high quality ingredients and 3rd party testing for purity and accuracy of the label.
