Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to pay for Medicare?
Many people get Part A with no premium, but Part B, Part D, and Advantage plans may have premiums, copays, or deductibles. Costs vary based on income, plan type, and prescriptions. We walk clients through plan comparisons so they understand exactly what to expect.
Can I keep my doctor?
Most of the time, yes, especially with Original Medicare. With Medicare Advantage, doctor networks vary, so we help you confirm if your providers are in-network.
When can I sign up?
For most people, enrollment starts around the Initial Enrollment Period (3 months before you turn 65, the month of your birthday, and 3 months after).
How do I help a parent or relative enroll in Medicare?
You can assist with research, appointments, and paperwork. We guide families through every step to make the process stress-free!
Will I get Medicare automatically at 65?
If you’re already receiving Social Security, yes, you’ll be automatically enrolled in Parts A & B. If not, you’ll need to sign up manually.
Can I get Medicare before 65?
Yes, if you have certain qualifying disabilities or conditions like End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or ALS.
How do I know which plan is best for me?
It depends on your doctors, prescriptions, travel, and budget. We compare plan options side-by-side to find the right fit.
What does Medicare not cover?
Original Medicare doesn’t cover things like routine dental, vision, hearing aids, and long-term care. Many people fill these gaps with Medicare Advantage or supplemental coverage.
What happens if I miss my enrollment window?
You may have to wait for the next period and could face penalties. We can help you determine if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period!
Can I change my coverage every year?
Yes, during the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15–Dec 7). There’s also Open Enrollment (Jan 1–Mar 31) for certain changes.
