Navigating Disability was founded by Kate Read — a mother, a carer, a person with disability, and a lifelong advocate
for clarity, dignity, and real support.
Kate didn’t set out to create a platform.
She set out to survive a system that wasn’t built for her — or her kids.
As a parent to two autistic children, Kate spent years pushing through red tape, misunderstanding, and burnout.
Later, working inside the system, she saw what professionals
often missed:
the invisible load families carry
the gaps disabled people fall through
the way corporate inclusion too often stops at surface-level
So she created what she wished had existed all along.

To make disability education clear, compassionate, and human-first.
To support people with lived experience.
To bridge the gap between community and the corporate world.
To challenge what isn’t working — and replace it with something better.
This is more than a platform. It’s a movement.
Warm, Caring, Assertive
Lived-Experience Led
Accessible Language, Always
