What is included and how much does it cost?
The student residence is $350.00 per week and includes a private bedroom with ensuite bathroom along with AC, hot water, fans, and linens are provided. Students also have access to a large, modern, fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, refigerator, pots, pans, blenders, slow cookers, rice makers, etc. Students also have access to the living room/common area with outdoor seating, TV and areas to chill out. Once per week room cleaning is also included. Laundry service available for an additional fee. Check out the virtual tour.
Where is the Residence located?
The residence is located about one mile from campus in La Esperanza (the hope). See our location on Google Maps. It's about a 25 minute walk, 8 minute bike ride or 5 minutes in a tuk tuk taxi, e-bike, quad or car. The location is unique as it is in a quaint local neighborhood that is dominated by one large family. The mom, dona Leilys is located at the very end of the road and she gifted her 10 children (!) all the lots on the street. So, we are part of a big family here and it has a real Costa Rican feel to it while still being close to the amenities of town.
Does the Residence include meals?
No, the residence does not include meals but there is a large, modern, fully equipped kitchen for your use and there is a super market just a 5 minute walk away as well as options for take out or of course going out to eat at one of the many restaurants nearby in Playa Guiones.
Is the Residence suitable for more mature students?
Yes! Since we only have three rooms, it's never over-crowded and we have students of all ages stay here, from retirees to university students.
When can I check in?
The student residence is available from Sunday - Sunday. On some occasions we can accommodate alternative check in and check out, please email us if you need custom dates.
How do I reserve a room?
During the check out process on our payment system, you'll have the option to add accommodations, either our homestay program or the student residence.
