
If the parks are muddy and everyone’s bouncing off the walls…
Don’t fight the energy.
Channel it.
Here’s a 15-minute rainy-day workout you can do in the backyard, under the patio, or even in the lounge room.
No equipment.
No yelling required (well… maybe a little).
Set a timer for 15 minutes. Rotate through:
1️⃣ Puddle Jumps
10 star jumps (or jump over a towel “puddle”)
2️⃣ Animal Walks
Bear crawl to the fence and back
Crab walk to the couch and back
3️⃣ Lightning Speed
High knees on the spot for 20 seconds
4️⃣ Superhero Hold
20-second plank (tell them they’re “flying through the storm”)
Repeat as many rounds as you can.
Turn it into a challenge:
• Can they beat Mum or Dad’s star jumps?
• Can they hold plank longer than you?
• Can they invent a new “storm move”?
If they’re old enough, let them run the session.
Kids love being the coach.
While they’re doing their round:
• 10 push-ups
• 15 air squats
• 20 lunges
You’ll sneak in a workout without needing an extra time slot.
Rain doesn’t have to mean screens all day.
Sometimes the best memories are made in slightly chaotic lounge rooms with cushions everywhere.
