Laniece Listens’ book “Becoming Her” is an eye-opening and soul-nourishing read! I laughed, I cried, I physically scrunched my toes as her words stepped on them by way of saying things I know I needed to hear, and I took notes. The book flows well and has a great balance of emotions, as most odysseys we take are emotional rollercoasters. I especially appreciated how she includes actionable items for readers to really be engaged and make the book personal. There have been other similar books I read where the author shares their story and journey, but I felt like I was just reading their story and that was that. “Becoming Her” really allowed me the space and time to sit and think about the messages throughout the book and truly apply it to myself to make the book work for me.
