About US

Hebrew Day is more than just a great Orthodox Jewish school that raises successful and proud Jewish students. We are a living laboratory for how Jewish education shapes Jewish identity, leadership, and future success. Our alumni go on to lead in every industry; from business, law, science, and the arts, to Jewish communal leadership.

Teaching Excellence Award

Rabbi Chaim Hollander

For nearly 50 years, Rabbi Hollander has done more than teach; he has shaped souls, built Jewish identity, and lit a love of Torah in the hearts of three generations of Hebrew Day students. During this time, he also served as a revered spiritual leader of Young Israel of San Diego for 21 years.
Rabbi Hollander has guided many of us through our questions, celebrated our growth, and stood as a steady source of wisdom and faith. For many of us, his voice, his stories, and his quiet encouragement are woven into who we are as Jews and human beings.
