Our Foundation

What We Believe

At RCCG Carlisle Prayer Chapel Church, our foundation is built on the Word of God.
These core beliefs guide our faith and practice.

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of
God

We believe the Bible is the complete, infallible Word of God, written by holy men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. It is our final authority for faith and practice, containing all truth necessary for salvation and Christian living. The Scriptures are divinely inspired, inerrant in the original manuscripts, and profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. We hold to the principle of 'Sola Scriptura' - Scripture alone as our ultimate guide.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit empowers us to live a godly life

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience from salvation, empowering believers for service, witness, and holy living. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, regenerates the believer, and indwells every Christian from the moment of salvation. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit as outlined in Scripture, including but not limited to prophecy, healing, tongues, interpretation, and discernment. These gifts are given for the edification of the church and the advancement of God's kingdom.

Ordinances

Baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances for all believers

We practice water baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith and identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism is for believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. We also observe Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) regularly as a memorial of Christ's sacrificial death and a proclamation of His return. These ordinances are not means of salvation but expressions of obedience and symbols of our faith in Christ.

Second Coming

Christ is coming again to reign in glory

We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of Jesus Christ to earth. This blessed hope includes the rapture of the church, the tribulation period, Christ's millennial reign, and the establishment of the new heaven and new earth. We believe in the resurrection of both the just and the unjust - the righteous to eternal life and the wicked to eternal punishment. Christ's return will bring final judgment, the defeat of Satan, and the consummation of God's redemptive plan.

Salvation

Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by works of righteousness which we have done. Jesus Christ, being fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as our substitute, and rose again on the third day, conquering sin and death. Salvation is a free gift from God, received by repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This salvation includes justification, regeneration, and sanctification.

The Church

The universal church is the body of Christ on earth

We believe in the universal church, which is the body of Christ, composed of all born-again believers from Pentecost to the rapture. The local church is a congregation of baptized believers associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word. The church exists to worship God, edify believers, and evangelize the world.

The Great Commission

We are called to make disciples of
all nations

We believe every Christian is called to participate in the Great Commission - making disciples of all nations through evangelism, baptism, and teaching. This includes local evangelism, church planting, and world missions. We are committed to reaching the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ, both in our local community and to the ends of the earth. The church has a responsibility to preach the gospel to every creature and to demonstrate God's love through acts of compassion and service.

Christian Living

Believers are called to live holy and righteous lives

We believe that Christians are called to live holy lives, separated from sin and dedicated to God's service. This includes personal holiness, moral purity, integrity in all relationships, and faithful stewardship of time, talents, and resources. We believe in the importance of prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and service as essential elements of Christian growth. Believers should demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit and be salt and light in their communities.

Our Mission

To make heaven, take as many people with us, and live a life of holiness, service, and love.

This mission drives everything we do at RCCG Carlisle Prayer Chapel Church. We are committed to personal salvation, evangelism, discipleship, and holy living. Our goal is not just to reach heaven ourselves, but to bring as many souls as possible into God's kingdom through the transforming power of the gospel.

Our Vision

To be a model church that demonstrates God's love, power, and presence in our community and beyond.

We envision a church where believers are equipped for ministry, the lost are reached with the gospel, the sick are healed, the broken are restored, and God's kingdom is advanced. We strive to be a beacon of hope, a center of transformation, and a launching pad for global missions.

Our Heritage

RCCG Carlisle Prayer Chapel Church is part of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), a global Pentecostal denomination founded in 1952 by Pastor Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi in Lagos, Nigeria.

Under the leadership of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye since 1981, RCCG has grown to become one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the world, with churches in over 190 countries.

Our local church was established to serve the Carlisle community and surrounding areas, bringing the same spirit of revival, holiness, and evangelism that characterizes RCCG worldwide. We maintain strong connections with our parent organization while adapting our ministry to meet the unique needs of our local community.

As part of the RCCG family, we participate in global prayer initiatives, missions programs, and leadership development opportunities that strengthen our local ministry and expand our global impact.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: To make heaven, take as many people with us, and live a life of holiness, service, and love.

A family of believers passionate
about loving God, serving others,
and transforming lives.
