We only collect information that is needed for your care or required by law.

  • Medicare, DVA or health fund details

  • Your medical history, allergies, medications, lifestyle information

  • Test results, referrals, care plans and treatment notes

  • Information from hospitals, specialists or other health providers (with your consent)

3.How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide you with medical care

  • Send referrals to specialists or allied health

  • Organise tests, imaging, prescriptions and follow-up care

  • Manage appointments, recalls and reminders

  • Process Medicare and billing claims

  • Communicate with you when needed

  • We will always tell you if we need your information for something else.

4. Who we share information with

We only share your information when:

  • You give us consent (e.g., sending a referral)

  • It is needed to provide safe, coordinated healthcare

  • The law requires us to (e.g., public health reporting or court orders)

  • Specialists, hospitals and allied health providers

  • Pathology and imaging services

  • My Health Record (if you use it)

  • Medicare, DVA and private health insurers (billing only)

You may ask for a copy of your health information. We will provide it unless a legal or clinical

reason prevents this. Fees may apply for printing or preparing copies.

Ask for corrections

If something is incorrect, we will update it promptly.

You can ask us at any time how your information is stored, used, or shared.

6. How we keep your information safe

We protect your information by:

  • Storing electronic medical records in secure, password-protected systems

  • Keeping paper records (if any) in locked areas

  • Restricting access to authorised staff only

  • Training all staff in privacy and confidentiality

  • Following strict security rules for email, telehealth, and electronic communication

When records are no longer required, they are securely destroyed.

7. Social media and email

For your safety and privacy:

  • We do not provide clinical advice through social media

  • We do not discuss personal medical information over unsecured email

  • If you message us on social media, we will ask you to call the clinic instead
