It's so easy!
Your family will enjoy and love your new puppy or adult dog!
And as your puppy grows older, if you selected a female dog you DO NOT need to deliver or raise puppies! After 4 litters the female is spayed and becomes your dog forever. (see more in the FAQs below)
By participating in the "foster to own" program, you become part of our breeding family. This helps spread the love of Emotional Support Animals to more people.
We have Golden Retrievers, Spaniels and Poodles that are used in our breeding program as well as mixes of these breeds. You will get a puppy or dog that is the pick of the litter. When we breed a dog we do genetic health testing, OFA health testing, as well as personality testing, we want our parent dogs to be the best possible so their pups can also be the best possible!
You will not need to deliver and raise the puppies. I will take the pregnant dog about 1 week before the due date. I will take care of the delivery and raising the puppies until they are weaned, at which time your foster dog will return to you.
We take females when they are in heat for a few days to breed them. Once they are ready to deliver their pups, they will be gone for about 8 weeks, until the puppies are weaned.
We typically breed our healthy females on their second and third heat cycles, skip the fourth, and breed again on the fifth and sixth heat cycles. All of this depends on the health of the dog, how she responds to pregnancy, motherhood and postpartum recovery.
You are required to pay for all vet visits, food, toys, and other dog accessories. Any expense that an owner typically pays for, you will be required to cover.
When your dog is done in the breeding program we pay for the spay/neuter and the dog is yours!.
How Much Am I Compensated For Being A Foster Family?
We provide a quarterly stipend toward a specific dog food which we require for all of our Foster Dogs. Additionally, you will receive the dog as compensation after they are done in the breeding program.
We frequently have new dogs that become available and are ready to go to a Guardian Home! Feel free to reach out to discuss what dogs we have that could be the perfect fit for you!
