Get Your USCG Captain's License — Without the Runaround

Two focused courses. Proven instruction. Everything you need to pass your exam and earn your license on he first try — whether you want a 6-Pack or a Master Ton.

The straightforward path to your captain's license.

A lot of schools overwhelm you with a catalog of 15 programs, endless upsells, and vague timelines. We don't do that.

We offer exactly two courses — the OUPV (6-Pack) and the Master 25/50/100 Ton — because those are the only two USCG licenses most professional captains ever need. Our instructors have held these licenses themselves. They built this curriculum to be direct, exam-focused, and genuinely useful on the water.

Whether you're a fishing guide ready to take clients out legally, a water taxi operator serving the bay, or someone who's been on the water for years and finally wants the credential to match — you're in the right place.

Why Captains Choose Us

Two courses. Deep expertise.

We don't try to be everything to everyone. By focusing on exactly two license programs, we've built the kind of deep subject-matter knowledge that only comes from running the same course hundreds of times — and refining it every time.

USCG-approved. No testing center required.

Our courses satisfy USCG examination requirements under 46 CFR 11.201 and 11.301. When you complete our program, you apply directly to the National Maritime Center — no trip to a regional exam center needed.

South Florida waters. South Florida instruction.

Biscayne Bay, the Florida Keys, the Atlantic — we teach navigation, weather, and seamanship with the conditions our students will actually face. This isn't generic maritime training. It's built for where you'll captain.

FAQ

Do I need sea service before I can enroll?

You can enroll in the course at any time, but you'll need to document your sea service before submitting your USCG application. For OUPV, that's 360 days total (90 within the last 3 years). Many students complete the course while accumulating their sea time.

What's the difference between a 6-Pack and a Master license?

The OUPV (6-Pack) allows up to 6 paying passengers on uninspected vessels. The Master license removes the passenger cap and allows inspected vessel operation — ferries, water taxis, dinner boats — with unlimited passengers. The Master also doubles your offshore range from 100 to 200 miles.

How long does it take to get a captain's license?

Coursework takes 8–11 days in-person, or several weeks self-paced online. After submitting your application, NMC processing takes 4–8 weeks. Most candidates plan for 2–4 months total from enrollment to license in hand.
