Owned and operated by Military Veterans we have devised a unique development system inspired by Military service and a deep commitment to character building that nurtures success. Our training concept utilises obstacle-based fitness and challenging team-building activities to offer a holistic and fun approach to learning that complements the traditional educational system.
All sessions are led by military-trained instructors with infectious enthusiasm, and are a fun and effective way of getting fit. With the encouragement of your instructor, you’ll train in pairs, groups and teams, climbing over, crawling under and running around each other from the first to the last minute.
Everyone, from exercise rookies to fitness veterans, is welcome. Each class is divided into three ability groups (blue, red, green), and broken down into groups of around 15 people. You don’t need special kit to train with Manchester Outdoor Fitness. An old t-shirt and shorts or tracksuit is ideal. You’ll be warm within five minutes of starting the class, so please dress accordingly.
Some exercises involve getting down on the ground so be prepared to get at least a little bit dirty - it's part of the fun! So dust off your trainers, kiss the treadmill goodbye and see why 100s of others are hooked on MF!
One of the more unique characteristics of a boot camp workout is the use of non-traditional exercise equipment that is usually not available in the gym. There is a huge variety of equipment available, much of which may be cheap or even free. Examples include:

Sandbags/power bags/Bulgarian bags

Water-filled tubes known as slosh pipes
Battle ropes

Punch bags, focus mitts and boxing gloves

A boot camp is a type of group workout that promises good results through a tough, immersive, programme of exercise. Just as an army boot camp is designed to turn a civilian into a soldier, a fitness boot camp will help the participant achieve faster results than they might do otherwise.
Boot camp workouts are usually more intense than the average group exercise class and are more likely to involve an element of ‘tough love’ with the instructor adopting a no-nonsense approach to motivation and exercise instruction. Exercises are often selected to reflect this ethos and Spartan-esque equipment such as logs, sandbags, battle ropes and tyres are often included.
