Step 1: Create Your Account

To get started, you’ll first create your secure client account through our signup page. This account becomes your central hub for everything related to your tax engagement.

From your portal, you’ll be able to:

Upload and sign documents securely

Communicate with our team in one place

Track your tax projects and progress with full transparency

Step 2: Account Activation & Welcome Notifications

Once your account is activated, you’ll begin receiving a series of automated notifications and emails guiding you through each step.

Step 3: Review & Sign Your Engagement Letter

You’ll receive a notification letting you know your engagement letter is ready:

Your 2025 Personal Tax Prep Engagement Letter is ready, and we’re ready for you to get started.

Simply log into your Client Portal and the document will be waiting for you.

At this step, you will:

Review the engagement letter

Select your service package

Sign the agreement electronically

Step 4: Complete Your Tax Organizer

After your engagement letter is submitted, your organizer will unlock automatically:

Sound Tax™ – Organizer

Once your 2025 Personal Tax Prep Engagement Letter is submitted, your Sound Tax™ Organizer will be available in the portal so you can begin uploading your tax documentation.

This is where you’ll securely send us your documents and information.

Step 5: Prepayment Notification

After submitting your engagement letter, you’ll receive an invoice notification:

To begin your tax return, a prepayment of $25 is required.

The invoice is based on the package you selected

Add-ons, discounts, and credits may still be applied later

Final pricing is provided once your return is ready for signature

Important notes:

Returning clients’ prior-year pricing will be honored

Pricing will be adjusted by $25 ($50 for joint returns) before finalization

Step 6: Download the Mobile App (Recommended)

To make communication even easier, we strongly recommend using the mobile app:

The mobile app allows you to securely message us, upload documents, and receive updates directly from your phone.

Once downloaded, simply log in using your email address and password.

You can also access your portal anytime from any device via our website.

Step 7: Make Your Deposit & Upload Documents

Once your prepayment is submitted:

You’ll receive a confirmation notification

You can immediately begin uploading documents
