There are many things to consider when looking at a change in your future. Besides a job that you like or find meaning in, you will probably value stability, growth, and pay.

Luckily, a role as a Certified Nurse Aide has numerous advantages. Consider all the benefits that make these programs a great career choice and a bright future!

A promising future

The demand for both CNAs is growing faster than for workers in nearly all other jobs across the United States and right here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates a jobs increase of 9% for CNAs through 2028, which is well above the projected increase in all jobs as a whole (The average rate of job growth is only 5%.) What this means is that new CNAs will be needed to meet the future demands of healthcare, particularly from the aging baby boomer population in America.

Demand for CNAs continues to increase.

Demand for CNAs exists right now too!

The demand for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) continues to grow across the United States and right here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of nursing assistants is projected to grow about 4% from 2023 to 2033, with over 200,000 job openings expected each year due to workforce turnover, retirements, and the increasing need for healthcare services.

Healthcare remains one of the fastest-growing sectors of the U.S. economy, driven largely by an aging population and the increased demand for long-term care services. As the baby boomer generation continues to age, the need for compassionate, well-trained CNAs in hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare settings will remain strong.

This means that individuals entering the CNA field can look forward to meaningful career opportunities, strong job stability, and the ability to make a real difference in the lives of others. In addition to job security, a career as a CNA offers many personal and professional benefits—including the opportunity to gain hands-on healthcare experience, build relationships with patients, and create a pathway to advanced careers in nursing and healthcare.

Salary and benefits

The median annual salary for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in the United States is approximately $38,130, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In Pennsylvania, the median salary is similar at around $38,000 per year.

In the Philadelphia metropolitan area, CNAs often earn between $41,000 and $43,000 annually, which is higher than both the national and statewide averages due to strong demand for healthcare professionals in the region.

These figures reflect the growing need for skilled nursing assistants in hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare settings. Many CNAs in the Philadelphia area also earn $20 or more per hour depending on experience, shift differentials, and employer benefits.

In most roles, you will also get the chance to work alongside other medical specialties. This exposure may help you find your healthcare passion. You may then decide to pursue additional roles and advanced education such as a physical or occupational therapy, or even a doctor. The opportunities are endless!

Get a head start on nursing school.

Many current and future CNAs ultimately decide that they enjoy their exposure to nursing. They feed their passion by obtaining advanced responsibilities and education as a LPN or RN. With professional experience and knowledge attained in a CNA role, these roles foster strong candidates for nursing school.

Job satisfaction

Working in health care can be challenging. Passionate CNAs find that the ability to contribute in helping someone get better or attain a higher quality of life is very rewarding. Every new day presents an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.

Variety in every workday

Enjoy no two days that are the same in these positions. Regardless of the healthcare setting, each shift will be different. The school was good as well as the instructor were great. I had a great experience. The school needs to provide parking for students and clinical site was not the best to send students. They also need to fix the heat in the classroom.

I had a great learning experience with Nurse Teel. She was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed every second of the program. Also, before joining the program Nyah helped me with any question I had, she was very informative. The school director Mr. Shay was always helpful, generous and made sure we had what we needed to succeed. The best team of people I’ve ever come across. I’m glad I chose to learn the in’s and out’s of becoming a CNA through Carebridge Academy! I recommend this program 100% to anyone. :)

Great school, love the experience and how professional they are. Ms Teel is an excellent teacher and I really learned a lot about being an NA. You don't just learn from the book but also it's hands-on which I love. Also Ms. Liza was a wonderful clinical instructor. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to become an NA.
