UnMute is a Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communication support platform designed to help people better understand conversations, environments, and context. It is built first for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community, and also supports families, organizations, and partners who care about accessible communication.
UnMute was born from lived experience — growing up translating for Deaf family members and witnessing the emotional cost of inaccessible communication. It exists to shift the burden of access away from individuals and toward shared systems.
UnMute focuses on clarity, awareness, and participation in everyday life. Rather than relying on a single tool or feature, it takes a holistic approach to Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing accessibility that respects identity, preferences, and dignity.
UnMute is currently in active development and is expected to launch in 2026.
