Round 4 of the ORA Winter Downhill Series 2023 turned out to be a remarkable showcase of determination and commitment, marked by some intense moments on the dry and dusty course at Boomers Bike Park on the Gold Coast.
Once again, Jack Druery demonstrated his dominance, securing the top spot in the elite men's category with an impressive time of 2:33.48. His victory was hard-fought, as he edged ahead by a mere 1.82 seconds from our round 1 champion, Bryce Stirling. It's worth noting that Bryce made a resilient comeback after his bike mishap during round 2 practice.
The U17's category put on quite a spectacle, with a massive gathering of over 50 riders competing in this age group.
Notably, the female riders fearlessly took on the challenging chute section, marking a significant increase in their participation compared to earlier rounds.
Off the Brakes and Boomers Bike Park didn't disappoint, delivering cash prizes of $250, $150, and $100 for the top three positions in the Elite and Under 19's categories. NSD Dynamics also chipped in with some awesome suspension service vouchers for the Under 13's.
Just Ride Nerang and We the Riders supported the younger categories with vouchers at their store and online store, respectively, for the Under 15's and Under 17's. It was fantastic to see the ladies getting involved and taking home some sensational prizes.
If you missed out on the action, don't worry! Round 2 is just a few weeks away, so get ready to hit the trails and show us what you've got.
Events like these do not run with out the help of our volunteers, so Thank You to all the car park attendants, marshals, shuttle drivers that showed up and helped out over the weekend, you legends rock!
