I sell a range of bath, body and cosmetic products - all are made in small batches to ensure freshness in my home-based workshop in Eaglescliffe. I am a member of the guild of craft soap and toiletry makers and am fully insured for all of the products I make and sell. I make a whole range of products suitable for your body, face, hair & nails with new products due to be released soon; the majority are vegan friendly and all are cruelty free (some products use ingredients that are not vegan such as buttermilk & beeswax...one variant of the clay face masks and the single use salt scrubs).
I make products with a range of price points in mind, I sell smaller products that are ideal as party favours, sample sizes or small gifts; these start at 90p each to approx. £3.50 each. I also sell full size products and gift sets too which have a price point from approx. £6.50 upwards (the gift sets vary in price depending on the contents but are often around £15-£30) each).
It all began with wax melts as the requirements to be compliant (CLP) was an easy place to start meanwhile I spent years researching the exact steps required for creating and selling bath and body products. Slowly working my way through the legalities of needing a CPSR for all cosmetic products and their variants whilst also needing to document everything in a PIF file as well as uploading all products to the "dreaded" portal...turns out it wasn't anywhere near as scary as my teenage self once thought! I launched my bath and body range selling whipped soap and body butter and it has been growing and evolving ever since.
As someone who has worked with many children over the years who have had varying degrees of autism and also friends who have children who are autistic too I understand the many challenges they face at times. Not only on a daily basis but also whilst trying to become independent as they reach adulthood. I was made aware of this charity a number of years ago by a friend who's daughter attended regularly, I had heard nothing but positive feedback about how much her daughter loved attending, the activities she was involved in and most importantly the friendships she made whilst there. I was informed about the new venture and loved how the main focus was helping to upskill the young individuals and giving them the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a retail environment.
