Our Story

How was shiftED Academy founded?

Following decades in learning and development roles with professional services firms, our Founder and Principal, Tisha Parker Kemp, was at a crossroads after a global downsizing at the end of 2017.

In January 2018, full-time graduate studies pulled her in. Within weeks, however, she began receiving requests for her expertise on short-term learning and development projects. In response, she hired her first employee and shiftED Academy was born.

We quickly gained momentum in our first few years with the signing of large corporate clients, the launch of the first Booster Program and subsequent national award, and the growth and development of various other coaching programs, membership communities, and done-for-you services.

shiftED capitalized on trends that arose during the Covid-19 pandemic by supporting organizations who needed to transition to online presentations. This pivot provided a much-needed service in uncertain times.

In 2025, shiftED once again expanded its core offerings to include more cost-effective hosting solutions for underserved small businesses seeking an online portal for their on-demand courses and communities.
