In their own words, the identity shift that parents watch happen.
"The CounterPunch program really helped me understand my emotions and how they work, which made a massive difference in my day to day life. As I progressed, I also got to work with other kids dealing with their own challenges. From when I first started helping in the group sessions to when we wrapped up, I saw huge improvements in confidence, communication, mental resilience, and resistance to negative peer pressure. Overall, CounterPunch has helped so many people, and honestly, I don't know where I'd be today without it."
"At first, I actually didn't know it was CounterPunch, I thought it was just boxing. And then I was introduced to it, and I've loved it ever since. I actually started looking at myself and how I behaved and mainly my choices in life. It helps me control my emotions a bit more. The main benefits would be a better connection towards me and my parents, and my parents can understand me better. It really increased my communication skills a lot, drastically. It's a very big benefit for mental health."
"I did the course because I personally suffered with a bit of mental anxiety and depression, all your usual factors. Now that I've done it, it helped me so much and I'm so glad that I did it. I've got a much clearer head. It's so much better than going to a psychologist, which is all sort of talking at you. While Merc in CounterPunch works out with you and while you're doing push-ups, also works with you mentally. It just helps you understand everything so much better. Everyone should do it, to be honest."
"CounterPunch has helped me to realise why I feel some things. And then I can act on those things a lot differently because I know what I'm feeling and I know what I'm feeling before I actually know that I'm doing it."
"When people try to get to me now I know how to control it and I know what's happening in my brain."
"It makes me know what to do in tough situations. I know that other people can't control my feelings, only I can."
"I can sort of stand up for myself more. I believe in myself more. I saw myself becoming more happy and just a better person overall."
"It's something physical, rather than sitting down and talking. Something I was really looking forward to."
"We have been operating for some time now and have seen a huge difference in positive growth in our participants. Once graduating the program some have moved into continuing helping as mentors with following CounterPunch groups, while others have continued their boxing training. I personally have seen how much help this program offers. It's given the confidence, positive thinking, mental strength, and communication skills shown in all participants. It's a fantastic program with great results."
"I walked into her club as a young lad with a big mouth and attitude to match. Over the years she guided me in the right direction to become a better person, an athlete, and a coach. I now run my own club where I teach and guide young kids and adults from all walks of life. The knowledge and life skills given to me by Merc will be passed on to my kids and every person who walks through my door. Words can't express how grateful I am."

come from talking.
It comes from environment.
