INNMHA arranges clinics and demonstrations in a variety of disciplines.
Through the warmer season, NNMHA promotes education by holding clinics and demonstrations at a variety of venues. Active participation requires a fee (discounted from usual rates) and NNMHA membership for insurance purposes. Participation is limited, first come-first served, so register early. Auditing is free courtesy of NNMHA, but registration and liabilty waivers are required.

Introduction to Working Cattle
with Loal Tucker
Sunday, November 3, 2024 | 10 am – 3 pm

This is a clinic where everyone will have a chance to work cattle at an introductory level. We will work on settling the herd, cutting from the herd, tracking the cow, and taking them down the fence. Come learn about the bubble of a cow, how to teach your horse to wait on you, and watch that cow. All riders will have plenty of time to be on a cow. Clinic is limited to 8 riders.
Bring a sack lunch to eat during a shared lunch break; bottled water will be provided. This is an outdoor venue, so dress appropriately and bring a lawn chair if auditing.
Advance registration is required for both riders and auditors. For insurance reasons, please be a member of NNMHA if you register to ride. (Join online HERE.) Payment of $100 per rider is due at registration; cancellation refunds will be given if the slot can be refilled. Auditing is free as a benefit from NNMHA.
You will be asked to sign liability forms for both NNMHA (preferably online) and our host, Loal Tucker Horsemanship, Inc.

The Way of the Horse|Horses as Wisdom Companions for These Times
with EQUUS Founder Kelly Wendorf

Buffalo Spirit Ranch, Tesuque, NM (Shuttle from Tesuque MANDATORY, see below)
Most of us have long intuited the ways that horses support us to be better humans. Join Tesuque Village resident Kelly Wendorf, who founded EQUUS and developed the national award-winning equine-assisted coaching process,The EQUUS Experience, while living in Tesuque.
Kelly will begin by discussing the fast-growing equine-assisted industry—including equine-assisted therapy (EAT), equine-assisted learning (EAL), and equine-assisted coaching(EAC). She will address what are this industry's many benefits and challenges for the professional. Being an unregulated industry, Kelly will also explore what are the core competencies and standards necessary for good facilitation. A Q & A will follow her talk.
After her talk, all participants can experience first-hand the magic of horses inside a co-facilitation context. This workshop has no limit on the number of participants.
Advance registration is required for all attendees. Since no fee is required, NNMHA suggests that you contribute to our Scholarship, Grant and Sponsorship Program.
For insurance reasons, please be a member of NNMHA. (Join online on our Membership Page.) Attendees will also be sent an EQUUS liability waiver, to be signed and returned to EQUUS before the workshop.
* Parking is highly limited at the EQUUS location, Buffalo Spirit Ranch, so workshop attendees need to meet in Tesuque Village, then shuttle to the ranch. Further directions will be available with registration.
