Surgery Details

Eyelid Surgery is performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia. Care is always taken to provide a safe procedure.

This surgery is designed to use the natural skin lines in the eyelid creases. In doing so, the scarring is well hidden. The excess eyelid skin is removed. Occasionally some fat is removed. Fine sutures are used for the closure. At a later time, these sutures are removed. Every effort is made to minimize bruising and swelling.

Recovery Process

Your discomfort and swelling after eyelid surgery are usually less than expected. Recovery after eyelid surgery typically depends on your health. Most patients take 5 to 7 days off from work to recover. Strenuous activities, exercise, and sports are discouraged for the first 6 weeks. Healing is improved if you avoid these activities for this recommended amount of time.

What Can I Expect?

Look forward to enjoying your results. Patients recover relatively quickly from this surgery. The scars are well-hidden in natural skin lines.

Will My Results Last?

Results are typically long-lasting. Eventually, with age, the brows may begin to droop. Second eyelid surgery is usually not needed. However, a Brow Lift may be taken into consideration. An active and healthy lifestyle will help to better maintain your results.
