La-Toya Niles, a Barbados-born, Bronx-raised professional, has established herself as a highly accomplished consultant with a wealth of expertise in economic mobility, community investments, and livelihood strategies. Her unwavering dedication and extensive experience have made her a respected leader in the field.
During her tenure at the Mosholu Preservation Corporation (MPC), La-Toya served as an advisor and part-time Assistant Director of Community and Economic Development. In this role, she made significant contributions to enhancing the social determinants of health in the Bronx. Notably, she played a vital role in securing a $375,000 grant to build three edible gardens. This project aimed to promote healthy food options and community engagement. La-Toya's leadership and expertise were instrumental in successfully securing funding for this initiative.Prior to her role at MPC, La-Toya began her career at the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), where she provided invaluable support to governments and nonprofits. Her notable accomplishments at SBS included designing and facilitating technical skills and leadership development training modules, resulting in 90% of fellows attaining positions in the field. She also developed key performance indicators (KPIs) and impact measures to ensure high-quality service to community development professionals, organizations, and low-income communities.

ALTERer Consulting specializes in providing comprehensive services, including transformational consulting, data-driven insights, government and nonprofit consulting, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy development. La-Toya's educational background, including an MS in Applied Urban Science and Informatics from NYU Tandon School of Engineering - Center for Urban Science and Progress, an MPA in Urban and Social Policy from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College, further strengthens her expertise and understanding of complex challenges organizations face.

In this capacity, she leads interdisciplinary projects focused on process improvement, program design, and harm reduction, contributing significantly to the agency's strategic priorities.
