Our Team

Empowering people with diabetes to Thrive in body, mind, and spirit.

People with diabetes deserve care that is personal, whole-person, and built by people who truly understand their daily life.

Our Care Philosophy

Care that supports the whole person, not just the blood sugar number.

At Balance Diabetes Wellness, we understand diabetes care from both clinical experience and lived experience. Many of us live with diabetes ourselves, so we know the daily decisions, emotional weight, and real-life challenges that come with it.

That perspective shapes the way we care.

We look beyond blood sugar numbers to support the full picture of your health, including nutrition, movement, stress, hormones, habits, and confidence. Our goal is to help you feel heard, guided, and equipped with care that fits your life.

“We do not hand you a plan and send you on your way. We walk with you through the real-life parts of diabetes care.”

Partnership Over Prescriptions

You are part of the process. We build your plan with you, based on your goals, preferences, routines, and real life.

Progress Over Perfection

We focus on practical habits that you can keep doing, even when life gets busy. Small, sustainable steps create real change.

Lived Experience Matters

Several members of our team live with diabetes. We understand the highs, lows, decisions, and emotional weight behind the numbers.

Whole-Person Support

Your care team works together across nutrition, diabetes education, fitness, functional nutrition, and mental health support.

Our Founder

I built the kind of diabetes care I once needed.

Kelsie Lewis, Founder

Diabetes doesn’t shrink my life. And it doesn’t have to shrink yours either.

— Kelsie Lewis, Founder & Lead Dietitian

Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 17, Kelsie Lewis learned early that diabetes care had to be more than numbers, food rules, and quick appointments.

As a multi-sport athlete and college volleyball player, she needed to understand how food, movement, hormones, insulin, stress, and real life worked together. When she could not find that kind of support, she built it.

Today, Kelsie brings that lived experience into her work as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, insulin pump trainer, and founder of Balance Diabetes Wellness.

Her goal is simple: help people feel more informed, more supported, and more confident in their diabetes care.
