PRP for Hair Restoration — Awakening Your Follicles' Natural Potential

Your biology as the blueprint for beautiful skin

Regenerative facial treatments at Origins are built on a simple but powerful premise — that the most effective path to healthier, younger-looking skin begins from within. Rather than or in addition to surface-level treatments, we harness your body's own biological intelligence to stimulate collagen production, restore skin architecture, and renew your complexion at the cellular level.

At Origins, our regenerative facial treatments combine Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy with precision injections and microneedling to deliver results that are not only visible — but lasting. Because when your own biology does the healing, the outcomes are as natural as they are remarkable.

Evidence-Informed Treatment for Thinning Hair & Alopecia

Hair loss is one of the most common and emotionally significant health concerns affecting both men and women — and one that conventional medicine has historically offered limited solutions for. At Origins Integrative Health, we offer Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy for hair restoration — an evidence-informed, biologically intelligent approach that works with your body's own healing capacity to stimulate follicle health, slow hair loss, and encourage meaningful regrowth.

This is not a surface treatment. PRP for hair restoration works at the level of the hair follicle itself — delivering concentrated growth factors precisely where they are needed to reawaken dormant follicles, improve scalp circulation, and create the biological conditions your hair needs to grow.

How PRP Stimulates

Hair Growth

The hair follicle is a remarkably dynamic structure — and one that is highly responsive to the growth factors concentrated in platelet-rich plasma. When PRP is injected into the scalp, it delivers a potent combination of growth factors — including PDGF, VEGF, IGF-1, and EGF — directly to the follicular unit and surrounding dermal papilla cells.

These growth factors stimulate follicular stem cells, promote angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) to improve follicle nutrition, extend the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle, and shift follicles from the telogen (resting) phase back into active growth. The result is a measurable improvement in hair density, diameter, and overall scalp health — achieved through your body's own biological resources.

What the Research Shows

PRP for hair loss has been studied extensively across multiple randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews — consistently demonstrating meaningful clinical benefit. A systematic review and meta-analysis published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology found that PRP therapy produced significant improvements in hair density, hair diameter, and the anagen-to-telogen ratio compared to placebo controls. A randomized controlled trial published in Dermatologic Surgery demonstrated that patients receiving PRP injections showed a mean increase of 33.6 hairs per cm² at six months — a clinically significant result with no serious adverse effects reported. Research has also shown that PRP is particularly effective for androgenetic alopecia — the most common form of hair loss in both men and women — as well as alopecia areata, telogen effluvium, and hair thinning associated with hormonal changes.

What Is PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma is derived from your own blood. A small sample is drawn, processed through centrifugation, and concentrated into a powerful plasma rich in growth factors — including platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and epidermal growth factor (EGF). These growth factors are the biological signals your skin needs to activate fibroblasts, stimulate new collagen and elastin production, and begin the process of genuine cellular renewal.

PRP Facial Injections

PRP facial injections deliver concentrated growth factors precisely and strategically into the dermal layers of the skin — targeting the areas of most concern, including the forehead, crow's feet, cheeks, nasolabial folds, and perioral region.

Once injected, PRP activates a cascade of regenerative activity. Fibroblasts are stimulated to produce new collagen and elastin. The extracellular matrix — the structural scaffolding of the skin — is remodeled and rebuilt. Hyaluronic acid synthesis increases, improving skin hydration and volume from within. Over the weeks and months that follow, the skin becomes measurably firmer, smoother, and more luminous — not from a substance added to the skin, but from the skin's own renewed capacity to heal and regenerate.

SIGNIFICANT STUDIES

What the research shows

Clinical studies have consistently demonstrated that PRP facial injections produce significant improvements in skin quality, collagen density, and overall facial appearance. A prospective controlled clinical study published in Dermatologic Surgery confirmed histological evidence of new collagen formation following PRP injection — with measurably increased collagen fiber density confirmed through tissue biopsy at 28 days post-treatment. A comprehensive systematic review published in 2024 found significant improvements in skin texture, pore size, wrinkle reduction, pigmented spots, collagen density, and hyaluronic acid levels following one to three treatment sessions — with patient satisfaction averaging over 90% at six-month follow-up.

Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling with PRP combines the collagen-stimulating power of microneedling with the regenerative potency of platelet-rich plasma — creating a synergistic effect that significantly enhances the depth and quality of collagen synthesis beyond what either treatment achieves alone.

During the treatment, a microneedling pen creates thousands of microscopic channels in the skin's surface — triggering the skin's natural wound-healing response and dramatically increasing the absorption of PRP into the deeper dermal layers. The result is a more powerful, more evenly distributed regenerative effect — stimulating collagen and elastin production across a broader surface area and delivering growth factors precisely where the skin needs them most.

SIGNIFICANT STUDIES

What the research shows

Research has demonstrated that combining PRP with microneedling produces significantly superior outcomes compared to microneedling alone — with enhanced improvements in skin texture, tone, fine lines, acne scarring, and overall luminosity. A split-face clinical study found that the PRP-treated side showed markedly increased skin thickness, improved texture, fewer wrinkles, and smoother, firmer skin compared to the control side after three treatment sessions. Studies have also confirmed that microneedling with PRP produces measurable improvements in photoaging, including regulation of MMP-1 — the primary collagen-degrading enzyme — suggesting that the treatment may actively protect against ongoing UV-related skin damage.

What to Expect

Most patients require an initial series of three to four treatments spaced four weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions every three to six months. Results are typically noticeable at three to six months — with continued improvement over the course of a full treatment year. PRP is safe, well-tolerated, and derived entirely from your own blood — making it one of the most biologically compatible treatments available for hair restoration.
