About Me

Hi, I'm Kimberly!

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

As the daughter of immigrants, my path to becoming a therapist was deeply influenced by cultural expectations and the silent stigma surrounding mental health in my community. This personal experience ignited my passion for supporting those grappling with the intersections of cultural identity and mental wellness. Additionally, being bilingual in Spanish, I am dedicated to providing a culturally sensitive and inclusive space for clients who may prefer to communicate in their native language.

My professional experiences have been diverse, ranging from providing therapy in community mental health settings to advocating for survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. These roles have deeply informed my approach to therapy, emphasizing empathy, resilience, and the human capacity for growth.

My background experience

  • Graduated Pepperdine University with MA in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.

  • Worked in community mental health providing therapy services and case management to various populations including the unhoused, older adults (55+) and adolescents.

  • Volunteered at an organization that supported domestic violence and sexual assault survivors as a survivor advocate.

Who/what do I specialize in working with?

I specialize in assisting clients dealing with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and emotional dysregulation, employing a blend of DBT/CBT and somatic practices to foster mind-body awareness within a trauma-informed framework.

My passion extends to addressing cultural challenges such as generational trauma, imposter syndrome, and the nuances of self-esteem and advocacy, especially for those navigating the complexities of first-generation stressors. In our sessions, I invite you to explore and embrace the complexities of your identity and experiences. Together, we can embark on a journey towards healing, understanding, and empowerment, navigating the challenges and celebrating the victories that shape your unique story.

What do I do when I’m not doing therapy?

Outside of therapy, I find solace and strength in crafting, DIY projects, and weightlifting, which reflect my personal journey of transformation and empowerment.
