Borderline Personality Disorder

Fists of rage. Hopelessness.

You’ve experienced pushing people you love away, while also having intensely close relationships with people you’ve just met.

The impulse to self-destruct through physically harming yourself, engaging in toxic relationships, or spending money you don’t have feels like a wild animal you can’t tame.

The feelings of desperation and despair that accompany you no matter where you go lead to terrifying thoughts of ending it all.

Just because you feel this way, doesn't mean you're broken.

It can be hard to recognize this when your emotions are always at a 10.

Trying to make it through each day engaging in the same behaviors only makes things worse.

The emptiness you feel never goes away despite efforts to fill it with intense relationships and substances.

The truth is when you take one step in the right direction, you are bound to continue to see things change for the better every day.

Drastic change is truly possible, when you have the tools and a guide.

How does BPD develop?

According to Marsha Linehan, the founder of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, the evidence-based treatment was specifically created for folks who experience a pattern of emotional dysregulation and difficulties with their sense of self, some of the main symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder views the development of BPD from a bio-social stance.

This means that symptoms and behaviors are caused by both your biology (nature) and the environment in which you were raised (nurture).

As children, we have needs that our parents are required to meet for our physical and emotional well-being.

Growing up in an invalidating environment wherein your parents or caregivers are constantly ignoring or minimizing your emotions can result in an inability to regulate our emotions and produce the need to get attention in other, more intense ways.

We're Here to Help

Therapy, especially DBT, helps you learn about your behavioral patterns and helps you change them in order to live a life that is free of suffering.

The 4 topics of DBT are; mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance.

"Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional"

Once we let go of the need to have suffering in our lives, everything changes.

Change is possible.

It can feel like there’s nothing that can help, and we want to honor that feeling right here.

We also want to suggest that with support, a safe therapeutic relationship, and effective skills, it is possible to live a more fulfilled and balanced life.

We’ll work together to help you gain acceptance for the person you are today, and identify what behaviors and thinking patterns you want to change for a better tomorrow.

A life worth living.

As you eventually build mastery in utilizing various skills, you will gain freedom from the impulses, thoughts, and behavioral patterns that ruled over you.

You will be able to set boundaries with others and learn how to calm your mind in order to be effective in your own life.
